1.
Meditation
A path towards stress free life
Practising asanas give us an immediate feeling of physical
well-being, meditation on the other hand is seen as a more
daunting discipline, because it requires to find the stillness
within us.
Symptoms of stress can be clearly diagnosed, yet there does
not seem to be a widely accepted medical solution for them.
There are, however, various ways of trying to deal with stress.
Learning how to slow our busy mind down through the art of
relaxation is one effective way. The health benefits of meditation
reside in its power to train our mind and restore physical
balance and inner peace. Improved immune system, greater ability
to calm down at will, feeling more present and focused are
few of the many acknowledged benefits of meditation.
This lecture introduces you to some practical methods to help
you unwind and reduce the effects of stress and day-today
tensions.
‘Stretch’ your stress away with asanas, ‘breathe’
your stress away with pranayama…and ‘relax’
your stress away with meditation!

2. Yoga and Chakras
What are ‘Chakras’ and how to awaken them through
the practice of specific Yoga asanas.
The word ‘Chakra ‘comes from the Indian Sanskrit
word that translates as ‘wheel’ – a reference
to the principle vortices spinning like wheels aligned with
the spine.
There are 7 well known Chakras coming from the base of the
spine to the crown of the head. Each Chakra or energy centre
plays a role both at the physical and emotional level. Should
one of them be blocked and the whole body/mind balance can
be put in turmoil.
Knowing how the Chakras can affect your physical and emotional
well-being and learning how to release any blocked energy
can help harmonize your whole being.
This lecture introduces you to the 7 main Chakras and their
functions whilst exploring how specific Yoga Asanas work to
ensure that the radiant energies flow freely through your
body.

3. Yoga and Ayurveda
Matching asanas to your Ayurvedic constitution:
Most of us tend to think of Ayurveda as a way of nurturing
our body and mind through the use of diet and massage. Whilst
those methods are indeed most important they can greatly benefit
physical and emotional health when combined with appropriate
Yoga asanas (postures); With the understanding that everyone
has an unique physio-psychological constitution and that one
asana might not suit all, this lecture introduces you to the
concept of Vatta; Pitta and Kapha and gets you to explore
your own Ayurvedic constitution to find out which asana suits
you best.

4. Wine Tasting
Introduction to the principles of wine tasting, and food and
wine pairing
Who said that Yoga and Wine were incompatible subjects of
interest? Certainly not me!
My passion for anything related to the world of wine has always
remained genuine since I joined the Bordeaux wine trade over
a decade ago. I have now been working for a number of years
for a respected Wine Merchant in London. Whilst enjoying a
rewarding career as a wine buyer, my thirst for knowledge
led me to enrol in the Master of Wines programme –considered
by the trade as the highest wine qualification- I am also
a certified wine educator.
My enthusiasm for the subject should make anyone want to reach
for a glass and enjoy the genius in it… with moderation
of course!
This lecture introduces you to the principle of wine tasting
through a fun blind tasting experience where you learn what
to expect from some well-known grape varieties. Invaluable
information will be shared on the subject of food and wine
pairing. A lecture to leave you with solid knowledge and confidence
for when you next buy from a shop and/or order in a restaurant.
